Ecology, Waste & Pollution
Eco simulates a shared ecosystem: species populations, habitats, resource extraction and pollution respond to what players build and consume. Environmental data is therefore part of production planning, not decoration.

Operational checklist
Section titled “Operational checklist”- Inspect maps and graphs before approving large projects.
- Keep mining waste and industrial waste contained.
- Place high-pollution production with drainage, prevailing risk and nearby biomes in mind.
- Recheck species populations after sustained hunting, logging or land clearing.
- Treat roads and transport as environmental decisions as well as economic ones.
- Use laws when voluntary coordination cannot protect a shared resource.
What to measure
Section titled “What to measure”Track pollution over time, not from a single map frame. Compare a baseline period with the production period, identify the likely source, and change one major variable at a time. This makes policy enforceable and avoids blaming the wrong industry.
