Economy, Settlements & Civics

Eco supports player-run economies and programmable governance. Shops connect specialists; contracts coordinate work; settlements define civic space; laws turn measured outcomes into enforceable rules.

  • Use a shared currency once barter becomes difficult to price.
  • Keep buy and sell orders visible so producers can see demand.
  • Price hauling, labour and fuel—not only raw ingredients.
  • Avoid permanently underpricing critical professions.
  • Fund roads, research and meteor infrastructure as public goods.
  1. State the environmental or economic problem.
  2. Name the measured trigger and data source.
  3. Choose the narrowest action that can solve it.
  4. Explain cost, enforcement and review conditions.
  5. Set a review date after the world has produced enough new data.

Good governance makes the settlement more predictable. It should not make ordinary play impossible to understand.
