How accurate are these routes?

Eight bell positions are independently landmark-resolved. Exact map coordinates for 213 Nexus identities remain visibly unknown, so those records give a reproducible guided search instead of an invented pin.

The atlas is a field-intelligence register with fail-closed geometry. It now gives all 213 current Abyss Nexus identities and all eight Toll of Pywel bells a region, nearest landmark, approach, hazards, prerequisites, activation signal and recovery procedure.

The eight bells have independently corroborated landmark-relative positions and complete final approaches. The 213 Nexus identities retain their stable index IDs and a current-patch search procedure, but their numeric coordinates remain visibly unknown because two independent sources do not publish the same reusable coordinate system.

Patch 1.18.01 map display fix

Patch 1.18.01 fixes certain areas being displayed incorrectly on the map. Pearl Abyss does not name those areas, so the Atlas does not invent affected pins, coordinates or completion states.

If a map area still appears wrong on the confirmed hotfix build, close and reopen the map at the same region, zoom and filter state, then capture both states and report the recurrence.

The map now distinguishes territory revealed by ringing a bell from territory explored directly. Treat those visual states as different evidence: bell reveal confirms map visibility, not a completed on-foot sweep of every landmark or service.

Patch 1.17.00 map corrections

Patch 1.17.00 removes map icons for treasure chests that cannot be obtained and fixes trade routes displaying abnormally. The Atlas therefore treats a removed chest icon as a corrected UI state—not a completed collectible—and does not preserve route geometry from a malformed display.

If either fault recurs, confirm Version 2.00.02, close and reopen the map, preserve the same region, zoom and filters, and capture the screen before reporting it. Do not invent a destination from a stale icon or route line.

Reading the atlas

  • Official records come directly from Pearl Abyss patch notes or Steam achievements.
  • Verified records are maintained by the guide with an explicit source path.
  • Community travel indexes require at least two independent source hosts and never create a route edge by themselves.
  • A field route expands inside each location card. Use the Geometry filter to separate landmark-resolved records from explicit coordinate unknowns.
  • The Field route finder searches all 221 supported destinations by region, route type, name or nearest landmark.
  • Bell results provide a corroborated landmark route; Nexus results provide a destination-specific search procedure without inventing an exact map pin.
  • Every generated briefing includes the supported approach, activation signal, hazards, prerequisites and recovery steps, with a direct jump to its full field record.
  • Atlas progress remains in this browser unless you export a JSON backup.

Current evidence boundary

Patch 1.02.00 added an Abyss Nexus in Pailune. Patch 1.03.00 improved Nexus discovery and teleportation while mounted, falling, swimming or climbing. Patch 1.06.00 published the official special-mount saddlery inventory for eight cities. The official Master Camper achievement names Howling Hill as the camp activation location.

Independent current references support the complete 213-entry Nexus count, regional list labels and eight-bell set. Two bell walkthroughs also agree on each settlement, final landmark, climb and interaction, so all eight bell positions are published as landmark-relative coordinates.

For the 213 Nexus records, the sources support the current map-list pin and activation method but do not expose independently reproducible numeric coordinates. Each Nexus therefore includes a regional search procedure and an explicit unknown coordinate state. No pixel position, distance or road edge is inferred from an image.

Phase 23 coverage

  • 221/221 Atlas travel records have operational field intelligence.
  • 8/8 Toll of Pywel bells have independently validated landmark-relative positions and final approaches.
  • 213/213 indexed Nexuses have current-patch map-label search procedures.
  • 0 numeric coordinates are claimed without a shared, independently reproduced coordinate system.
  • All existing Atlas and Completion Companion IDs remain unchanged.
