Patch Notes
Current official Crimson Desert patch baseline and guide-impact tracking.
Current verified patch
Section titled “Current verified patch”Version 2.00.02 is the current verified baseline. Pearl Abyss’s official Steam release record places the hotfix at 1 September 2026, 04:53:10 UTC; the Pearl Abyss detail page repeats the 2.00.01 timestamp, so the guide records that publisher-page discrepancy instead of presenting it as a second independent date.
The hotfix makes three focused repairs:
- lip-sync is partially improved again in certain cutscenes;
- controls no longer become unresponsive when using the small crane at Karin Quarry;
- riding a horse into a wandering merchant no longer forces a dismount.
Pearl Abyss did not name the affected cutscenes, identify the merchant, publish a collision rule, or attach the Karin Quarry crane to a quest title. The guide maps the crane repair to its canonical Hernand route while keeping that mapping visibly separate from the publisher’s wording.
Version 2.00.01 immediately precedes it. That hotfix repaired abnormal Arabic text, partially improved cutscene lip-sync, fixed frame-rate drops in unspecified situations and fixed launch failures in certain Steam Mac environments. “Partially” remains important: neither hotfix claims universal lip-sync correction, and the frame-rate and macOS scenarios were not enumerated.
Platform rollout
Section titled “Platform rollout”| Platform | Official Version 2.00.02 status |
|---|---|
| Steam — Windows PC | Available now |
| Steam — Mac | Available now |
| PlayStation | Available now |
| Xbox | Available now |
| Epic Games Store | Available now |
| Mac App Store | Available later; rollout in progress |
Do not assume the Mac App Store build is current until the game reports Version 2.00.02.
Current Known Issues
Section titled “Current Known Issues”The official notice was revised on 31 August 2026 at 13:20 UTC and contains 14 semantic issues. The sole new record is a Mac warning: some lighting effects may render incorrectly on devices with M5 chips. Pearl Abyss has not published a workaround; preserve the scene and settings and avoid destructive troubleshooting.
The prior 13 remain active: a missing Spanish voice option; two Xbox language-pack deletion faults; unavailable NPC, mount and object interactions; motionless fish; Greymane progression as Damiane or Oongka; Hold-evasion remapping; Legendary Animal quest passengers; Mac furniture-cursor and colourblind-UI defects; rapid PlayStation name-entry freezes; GTX 1060 FSR/Frame Generation white screens; and FSR 4 rainy-scene distortion.
The official English HTML still joins the Hold-evasion and Legendary Animal statements. The guide tracks them separately because they are unrelated faults; the official Japanese notice confirms them as separate entries.

Version 2.00.00 Enhanced baseline

It expands the main story with new cutscenes, story moments, Knowledge, items, Memory Fragments and boss-related dialogue; introduces Abyss Links and character-specific skill resets; adds eight Kliff skills; adds five voice languages and Arabic interface/subtitle support; and introduces Camera and Manual flying-mount controls.
Enhanced launch rollout
Section titled “Enhanced launch rollout”| Platform | Official Version 2.00.00 status |
|---|---|
| Steam — Windows PC | Available now |
| Steam — Mac | Available now |
| PlayStation | Available now |
| Xbox | Available now |
| Epic Games Store | Available now |
| Mac App Store | Available later; rollout in progress |
At the Enhanced launch, the Mac App Store build was not treated as updated until it reported Version 2.00.00. Use the current rollout table above for today’s baseline.
Abyss Links and skill progression
Section titled “Abyss Links and skill progression”- Spending Abyss Artifacts to learn a skill grants an equivalent number of Abyss Links to the other playable characters.
- Each character spends their own Abyss Links.
- Skill progression now resets per character; the Links used by that character are refunded.
- The first post-update launch resets all existing skill progression and refunds previously used resources.
- Kliff receives eight new skills after an unspecified main-story point. Pearl Abyss did not publish their names, inputs, costs or exact unlock condition.
After completing all main quests, a new-game feature can carry Abyss Links and other unnamed in-game currency from an existing save. The notice does not call this New Game Plus or promise equipment, inventory, mounts, Knowledge, learned skills, challenges or quest-state transfer.
Story and progression
Section titled “Story and progression”- Main-story narrative flow has been revised.
- New cutscenes and story moments appear throughout the main questline.
- Knowledge, items, Memory Fragments, dialogue and conversations were added to strengthen boss narratives.
- The main-quest interface was improved.
- Bilwise now awards Double Jump during Unexpected Gift.
- Golden Star is separated into distinct phases with phase-specific attack patterns.
- Chapter 9’s Mysterious Voice guide cutscene can restart if Woosa or Maegu dies.
The official notice does not enumerate changed quest IDs, route order, objective wording or Golden Star’s new phase count. All 168 main-story records carry an explicit Version 2.00.00 review flag for narrative presentation and transitions.
Controls, combat and systems
Section titled “Controls, combat and systems”- Added Flying Mount Controls under Others → Input: Camera follows the view direction; Manual separates mount heading from the camera and uses separate ascent/descent inputs.

- Corrected the wartime Calphade wanted-state prison fault.
- Reduced damage received by accompanying characters.

New language support
Section titled “New language support”Full voice-over is now supported in German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese. Arabic is supported for interface and subtitles, not listed voice-over.
Install language data through the platform’s game-content or language options, then select it in Menu → Others → Settings → Language and Audio. See Essential Settings for platform routes and current pack warnings.
Known Issues at the Enhanced launch
Section titled “Known Issues at the Enhanced launch”At the Enhanced launch, the official notice was revised on 25 August 2026 at 19:00 UTC and contained 13 semantic issues, up from 10.
New in this revision:
- Spanish may be missing after the update when voice language had previously been changed; selecting Default in Language and Audio is the official workaround.
- On Xbox, downloading another language pack can delete the previously installed pack.
- On Xbox, deleting one installed language pack can delete every other installed pack.
The prior ten also remained active at that revision: unavailable interactions; motionless fish; Greymane progression as Damiane or Oongka; Hold-evasion remapping; Legendary Animal quest passengers; two Mac UI defects; rapid PlayStation name-entry freezes; GTX 1060 FSR/Frame Generation white screens; and FSR 4 rainy-scene distortion.
The official HTML still joins the Hold-evasion and Legendary Animal statements. The guide tracks them separately because they are unrelated faults.

Patch 1.18.02 hotfix baseline
Section titled “Patch 1.18.02 hotfix baseline”Patch 1.18.02 fixed the Camp Resources zero-comrade display, the A Secret Deal silver reset, movement-animation stutter and shop-interaction lockups. Those repairs remain part of the regression record beneath Version 2.00.00.
Patch 1.18.01 hotfix baseline
Section titled “Patch 1.18.01 hotfix baseline”Patch 1.18.01 fixed delayed NPC interaction menus while a lantern was lit, hidden housing items placed on Version 1.12.00 or earlier, unexpected closure after launch and incorrectly displayed areas on the map. Those fixes remain part of the regression record; the map notice did not name affected areas, so the guide still does not invent locations or coordinates.

Patch 1.18.00 feature baseline
Section titled “Patch 1.18.00 feature baseline”Patch 1.18.00 remains the feature baseline beneath this hotfix. It added quest-focused Knowledge organisation and applied fixes across quests, trade, mounts, controls, combat, the map, graphics, saves and progression.
Knowledge, quests and progression
Section titled “Knowledge, quests and progression”- Quest Knowledge — a new category adds eight subcategories and separates Main Quests, Faction Quests, Investigation Quests, Research Quests, Daily Life Quests, Guide entries, Archive Records and Constellations. Some completed quests grant their Knowledge retroactively.
- Knowledge acquisition — animal Knowledge can now be earned by picking animals up rather than killing them; boss Knowledge wording was clarified.
- Quest records — Mysterious Invitation Knowledge is obtainable after reading the memory beneath Delesyia Castle.
- Targeted quest fixes — Baker’s Note was relocated for Haverson’s Request; the Mysterious Pot kiln can be rebuilt with Force Current; Cairn House submission, Jijeong Temple statue state and the Oongka/Torstein progression block in Time to Face Justice were corrected.
- World-state fixes — ordinary NPC behaviour in blockaded areas, Aeserion movement and the broken Abyss loop at Skyloop Bridge were corrected.
Economy, services and mounts
Section titled “Economy, services and mounts”- Research funding — research now spends camp funds instead of silver.
- Trade cargo — high-value trade goods can be stacked and loaded up to 100 as intended.
- Trading stalls — missing merchants were restored.
- Horse equipment — horse gear can now be equipped through a stable.
- Special mounts — low ledges should no longer trap special mounts as readily.
Controls, combat and interface
Section titled “Controls, combat and interface”- Lock-on Camera Rotation — the setting now offers Manual, Semi-Auto and Auto behaviour instead of a binary switch.
- Mounted ranged combat — lock-on targeting was corrected.
- Traversal and actions — window climbing and a repeated Sir Catfish action were fixed.
- Map exploration — bell-revealed territory is visually distinct from areas explored directly.
- Interface fixes — quick-slot arrow animation, dual-wield shield previews in shops and dyehouses, and Focus Mode time-lapse behaviour were corrected.
Graphics, audio, saves and stability
Section titled “Graphics, audio, saves and stability”- Indoor lighting instability and camera jitter or shake at low frame rates were corrected.
- Corrupted rendering with FSR or XeSS Frame Generation on certain lower-end GPUs, including GTX 1060, received a general fix.
- Return-to-title during revival, help-popup voice speed during cutscene fast-forward, worker state after loading a save, mount-rider animation, equipment clipping and Abyss Gear audio at zero volume were fixed.
- Oil-canister heater slots now reject unintended multiple placement, and localisation received another quality pass.
Patch 1.17.00 reconciliation
Section titled “Patch 1.17.00 reconciliation”Patch 1.17.00 corrected Desperate Rescue challenge counting, food quick-slot reassignment, special-headgear effects, movement presentation, unobtainable chest icons and malformed trade-route rendering. Those fixes remain part of the historical verification record.
Patch 1.16.04 equipment-state hotfix
Section titled “Patch 1.16.04 equipment-state hotfix”Patch 1.16.04 fixed equipment quantities becoming incorrect after receiving certain equipment, saving and reloading. Pearl Abyss did not name every triggering item or promise retroactive repair of an already affected save, so the protected comparison route remains available in Save, Cloud & Cross-Save Recovery.
Patch 1.16.03 shield hotfix
Section titled “Patch 1.16.03 shield hotfix”Patch 1.16.03 fixed the disappearing-shield fault after switching to dual-wielded weapons, saving and reloading. A recurrence on Version 2.00.02 should be treated as a possible regression and reported with the shield, character, platform and weapon state.
Patch 1.16.02 stability hotfix
Section titled “Patch 1.16.02 stability hotfix”Patch 1.16.02 fixed persistent loading or black screens when loading save data, Radeon RX 9070 XT Ray Regeneration corruption, a Mac MetalFX Denoising crash and unavailable indoor housing features.
Patch 1.16.01 interface hotfix
Section titled “Patch 1.16.01 interface hotfix”Patch 1.16.01 fixed regional wagon workshops showing camp storage as Wagon Cargo. The former restart workaround remains retired.
Patch 1.16.00 economy baseline
Section titled “Patch 1.16.00 economy baseline”Patch 1.16.00 introduced the expanded trading-post network, regional wagon workshops, new trade goods, Trade map layer, revised cargo rules and bank/bond systems. Patch 1.18.00 changes research funding, restores missing merchants and fixes the 100-unit high-value cargo rule without publishing new prices or route values.
