Factions, Bounties & Challenges
A progression-safe workflow for faction quests, bounty notices, wanted-state recovery and challenge verification.
Faction quests, bounties and challenges may share locations or targets, but they use different completion triggers. Track them separately.
Record types
Section titled “Record types”| Type | Completion evidence |
|---|---|
| Faction quest | Objective and turn-in state |
| Bounty quest | Named bounty objective and reward state |
| Challenge | In-game challenge completion |
| Wanted state | Crime and constabulary state |
| Knowledge | Journal entry, not a challenge by itself |
Character safeguard
Section titled “Character safeguard”The current Known Issues notice states Greymane faction quests cannot progress while playing as Damiane or Oongka. Preserve a manual save and use Kliff for affected progression until Pearl Abyss resolves the issue.
Do not mark an objective missed merely because it will not advance with a currently affected character.
Bounty workflow
Section titled “Bounty workflow”- Read the full notice.
- Record target, region and objective.
- Confirm the active quest.
- Save before entering the objective area.
- Complete only the displayed trigger.
- Verify turn-in and reward.
- Confirm the challenge or knowledge record separately.
Patch 1.10 fixed bounty quests failing to progress in some situations. A new reproduction on 1.16 should be reported with the exact bounty.
Challenge workflow
Section titled “Challenge workflow”- identify the challenge family;
- record prerequisites visible in the interface;
- capture the exact completion text;
- separate cumulative progress from one-time completion;
- confirm the record after quit and reload;
- do not infer hidden totals.
Wanted-state recovery
Section titled “Wanted-state recovery”When an action creates a crime state:
- record the action and region;
- avoid stacking more offences during diagnosis;
- follow the displayed constabulary or absolution route;
- preserve enough currency or required item;
- verify the wanted state has actually cleared.
Blocker recovery
Section titled “Blocker recovery”If a faction or bounty objective stalls:
- stop repeating unrelated interactions;
- switch to Kliff if the current official issue applies;
- return to title and reload;
- re-enter the objective area;
- compare the objective text with the world state;
- check Current Known Issues;
- report character, quest, region, patch and reproduction steps.
Evidence boundary
Section titled “Evidence boundary”The guide does not claim a complete faction, bounty or challenge total until a verified database export or complete in-game audit exists.
