Some lighting effects may render incorrectly on Macs with M5 chips

Some lighting effects may not display correctly on Mac devices with M5 chips.

Platform: MacSymptoms: Graphics, Display or scaling

Safe first actions

  1. Record the Mac model, M5 variant, macOS version, display, graphics preset and exact scene before changing settings.
  2. Compare one unchanged scene after a normal game restart; Pearl Abyss has not published a workaround.
Escalation steps and warnings
  • Do not delete saves, reset every option or assume a hardware fault for this known rendering issue.
  • Capture the affected scene and settings and submit them through the official issue-report route.

Equipment quantities after save and reload

Patch 1.16.04 fixes equipment quantities becoming incorrect after receiving certain equipment, saving and reloading; use a protected comparison if an older save already looks wrong.

Platform: All platformsSymptoms: Save or synchronisation, Gameplay

Safe first actions

  1. Install Patch 1.16.04 before acquiring more equipment or moving a save between platforms.
  2. Create a new manual save without overwriting the last known-good slot.
  3. Record the affected equipment names and quantities before testing.
  4. Quit normally, reload once and compare the same inventory entries.

  3. Record the crash location, action, graphics preset and driver version.
  4. Return overclocks or undervolts to a known-stable profile.
  5. Lower one high-cost graphics feature at a time and reproduce the same scenario.
Escalation steps and warnings
  • Verify game files only after preserving saves.
  • Use a driver rollback only when an official issue or reproducible regression supports it.

Use this page when the game is unstable, visually incorrect, ignoring inputs or placing save data at risk. It separates current official defects from editorial diagnostic paths so a workaround is never mistaken for a confirmed game fault.

  1. Preserve the state — note the platform, patch, driver, location, action and settings involved.
  2. Match the symptom — search the centre for the visible failure rather than guessing its cause.
  3. Apply the safe actions only — change one variable and repeat the same test.
  4. Escalate deliberately — open the warning section only after reversible tests fail.
  5. Report reproducibly — include the exact conditions, not only “it crashed” or “it is blurry.”

Version 2.00.01–2.00.02 technical baseline

Section titled “Version 2.00.01–2.00.02 technical baseline”

Version 2.00.01 fixes abnormal Arabic text, partially improves cutscene lip-sync, fixes frame-rate drops in unspecified situations and repairs launch failure in certain Steam Mac environments. Version 2.00.02 partially improves lip-sync again and fixes unresponsive small-crane controls at Karin Quarry plus forced horse dismounts after collision with a wandering merchant.

Treat the frame-rate repair as a regression marker, not a universal performance guarantee. Pearl Abyss published no affected scenes, hardware list, frame target or macOS versions. Both lip-sync entries remain partial. Preserve the exact scene, platform, build and settings before reporting a recurrence.

Patch 1.18.02 fixes the Camp Resources zero-comrade display, silver resetting after A Secret Deal, player movement animation stutter and characters becoming unresponsive after using a shop. A recurrence on Version 2.00.02 is a possible regression; preserve the affected state and record the platform, location, quest or shop before reporting it.

At the 17 August 09:00 UTC reconciliation point, the Known Issues notice contained 10 semantic issues. The Camp Resources and A Secret Deal records have been retired, but an already-reset silver balance is not claimed to recover automatically. Preserve known-good saves and evidence before contacting support.

Unavailable NPC, mount and object interactions remain listed in the Version 2.00.02 register; restart the game as the official temporary workaround. The GTX 1060 FSR-plus-Frame-Generation white-screen warning also remains active despite Patch 1.18.00’s broader rendering fix. Use the Technical Centre filters for the current non-destructive route.

Patch 1.18.01’s lantern-menu, legacy-housing, launch and map-display fixes remain in the regression history.

Patch 1.17.00 fixes overlapping footstep sounds and movement-animation stutter. A recurrence should be separated from general frame pacing: reproduce the same surface, movement speed, character and camera path; record whether the fault is audio, animation, performance or more than one symptom; restart once before changing settings.

Do not delete saves, reinstall or reset every option for this presentation fault. If it persists, capture a short clip and report the location, input, character, platform, build and active display/audio settings.

Pearl Abyss officially lists FSR 3/4, DLSS 4/4.5 and Intel XeSS 3 support on PC, Upgraded PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro, and FSR 3 on base PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Frame Generation is officially supported on PC and Mac, not consoles. The PC version requires current DirectX 12. Performance figures in the official specification notice are internal-test results rather than guarantees for every system.

Patch 1.16.00 added FSR Upscaling 4.1 support on Radeon RX 7000-series GPUs and Ray Regeneration 1.2.0. Patch 1.16.02 fixes the Radeon RX 9070 XT-or-newer Ray Regeneration corruption on platforms where the hotfix is available. If the same artefact returns on Version 2.00.02, disable Ray Regeneration for the test, preserve the exact scene and settings, and report it as a possible regression.

For normal image-quality setup, begin with Essential Settings. Use this page only when tuning becomes diagnosis.

The official FAQ recommends AMD driver 25.9.2 or later and NVIDIA driver 581.29 or later as a general baseline. A later driver is not automatically better when a current known issue names a regression. Record the existing version before updating or rolling back, and change drivers only after preserving saves and a reproducible test case.
