Fishing & Ponds
Evidence-safe fishing, live-fish handling and camp-pond management for Patch 1.16.00.
Fishing and pond keeping are separate operations. A caught fish is an inventory record; a registered pond fish becomes part of a managed camp population.
Fishing loop
Section titled “Fishing loop”- Save before a long fishing session.
- Confirm the cast area accepts fishing.
- Keep inventory capacity available.
- Record species, location and patch only after a successful catch.
- Decide whether to sell, retain, clean or register the fish.
- Preserve legendary fish until pond state is verified.
Patch 1.06 increased fish selling prices and fixed areas where fish would not bite. Patch 1.16 still lists fish caught in certain areas being unable to move as a known issue.
Pond construction
Section titled “Pond construction”Patch 1.08 added ponds to Howling Hill and Pailune Camp. Complete the pond construction mission before expecting Pond Management.
Fish can be added directly from inventory or through Pond Management.
Capacity and breeding
Section titled “Capacity and breeding”- multiple fish of the same species can gradually increase that species;
- the rate varies by species;
- fish may die when the pond exceeds capacity;
- a legendary fish remains regardless of lifespan or total population;
- only one legendary fish can be registered.
Do not invent breeding rates or a universal safe population. Use the live capacity display.
Legendary-fish safeguard
Section titled “Legendary-fish safeguard”Before registering:
- make a manual save;
- record the fish identity;
- confirm the destination pond;
- enter Pond Management from a safe state;
- verify the fish after registration;
- quit and reload before treating the record as permanent.
Patch 1.10 fixed duplicate legendary fish appearing after load and removed legendary fish from quick-slot use.
Recovery
Section titled “Recovery”If Pond Management fails, controls lock or a fish state looks wrong:
- stop adding or removing fish;
- record pond, species, count and patch;
- exit the interface safely;
- reload the newest known-good save;
- check Current Known Issues;
- reproduce once without changing another variable.
Evidence ledger
Section titled “Evidence ledger”For each verified species record:
| Field | Record |
|---|---|
| Catch region | Exact supported location |
| Catch condition | Time, weather or tool only if tested |
| Inventory use | Sell, clean, food, pond or unknown |
